Tags: Birds, Essex, Insects, PhotographyWe spend the day at this excellent reserve on the banks of the River Crouch where we hope to see passage waders including Common, Green and Wood Sandpipers along with Whimbrel, Spotted Redshank and others. The reserve is an excellent place to catch up with migrating Whinchat and Wheatear as they pass through on their migration south to Africa. Western Yellow Wagtails may be found amongst the grazing animals and it a great place to see Eurasian Hobby, Peregrine Falcon, Common Buzzard and maybe an early wintering Merlin as well as interesting insects and flora.
