Mid May is a typically good time for continental migrants that overshoot on the way to their more eastern or northern breeding grounds.
Just about anything is possible, from European Hoopoe and European Bee-eater through to Red-footed Falcon and Black Kite, Black-winged Stilt, Kentish Plover and Icterine Warbler, Bluethroat or European Serin.
Exciting breeding species also include Common Quail and Honey Buzzard. On previous trips we have seen Purple Heron, European Serin, Red-footed Falcon, Roseate Tern, European Bee-eater, Iberian Chiffchaff, Wood Warbler and Red-backed Shrike.
We will make the most of local knowledge and also have our bird pagers ready and waiting!
