Wild Mersea Island

Wednesday 9th March 2022

A circular walk from/to Cudmore Grove Country Park. The country park is a great place to scan the Blackwater Estuary where in the past we have seen many Slavonian Grebes and flocks of Brent Geese feed on the grazing marshes along with European Golden Plover and Black-tailed Godwits. The walk will give us a chance to look for raptors such as Common Buzzard, Western Marsh Harrier, Merlin, Peregrine and possible Hen Harrier. Our walk concludes with a search for the enigmatic Red Squirrel which have been reintroduced and are thriving!
£30 per person (does not include entrance fees or parking charges)
