Winter Birding at The Naze & Holland Haven

Wednesday 17th November 2021

A day spent at The Naze & Holland Haven exploring the scrub, coastal lagoons, beaches and marshland habitats that are home to a great selection of birds. There is a good chance of finding a wintering Firecrest amongst the tit flocks and in 2020 both Pallas’s Leaf & Dusky Warblers were present. Snow Bunting is a distinct possibility on the beaches along with Sanderling, Bar-tailed Godwit, Common Ringed Plover and Purple Sandpiper at one of the best sites in Essex for the latter species.

Western Marsh Harrier, Common Buzzard, Merlin and Peregrine hunt over the marshes and on the sea we will search for Common Eider, Common Scoter and Common Guillemot.

Should be a great day!
