Our group experienced the amazing wildlife that Finland has to offer and with 24 hour daylight it was a tour to remember!
Birding highlights included GREAT GREY, BOREAL, PYGMY, URAL, SHORT-EARED & LONG-EARED OWLS which were on everyone’s hitlist. Other great species were SIBERIAN JAY, RUSTIC BUNTING, CASPIAN TERNS, displaying RUFF, COMMON ROSEFINCHES, singing RED-FLANKED BLUETAILS, WESTERN OSPREY, WHITE-TAILED EAGLES, BLACK KITE, EUROPEAN PIED FLYCATCHER, COMMON REDSTART, WILLOW PTARMIGAN, WESTERN CAPERCAILLIE, BLACK GROUSE, HORNED GREBE, BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS, BLACK-THROATED & RED-THROATED LOONS, VELVET SCOTER, GREY-HEADED CHICKADEES and so much more.
It wasn’t just birds we enjoyed but EUROPEAN BROWN BEARS, RED SQUIRRELS, REINDEER, the delightful CALYPSO ORCHID and good numbers of BUTTERFLIES and DRAGONFLIES.
