GOLDEN ISLES OF SCILLY – AUTUMN MIGRATION

Sat 8th - Sat 15th Oct 2022

Our annual tour to the Isles of Scilly was a resounding success with some cracking birds, wildlife and scenery plus some lovely weather.

We struck gold with American species including SWAINSON’S THRUSH, AMERICAN BUFF-BELLIED PIPIT and the 4th British record of BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER which was simply amazing.

Other goodies included CORY’S SHEARWATER, EURASIAN WRYNECK, BARRED WARBLER, COMMON ROSEFINCH, JACK SNIPE, YELLOW-BROWED WARBLERS, MELODIOUS WARBLER, COMMON FIRECREST, BLACK-TAILED GODWIT, CURLEW SANDPIPER, BLACK REDSTARTS, PEREGRINE FALCON, GREAT NORTHERN DIVER and lots more.

It wasn’t just birds tho with RED SQUIRREL, LESSER WHITE-TOOTHED SHREW, PRICKLY STICK INSECT, CLOUDED YELLOW BUTTERFLIES and some stunning wildflowers from around the world.

We can’t wait to get back there in 2023 to sample the delights of the Golden Isles of Scilly.
