Our first tour to this amazing part of Sweden and it certainly won’t be our last. From the moment we landed in Gothenburg there were so many great wildlife spectacles including over 5000 COMMON CRANES displaying and calling in the light mist early in the morning. Other species of note included RED-NECKED, BLACK-NECKED & HORNED GREBES all in resplendent summer plumage, OSPREYS, 10 WHITE-TAILED EAGLES, NORTHERN GOSHAWK hunting and catching EURASIAN TEAL, SMEW, EURASIAN TREE SPARROWS, hundreds of GREATER WHITE-FRONTED & TAIGA BEAN GEESE, ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD, WHOOPER SWANS, EURASIAN WOODCOCK, WOODLARK, BARNACLE GEESE, unbelievably good views of HAWFINCH and to cap it all, a wintering male SIBERIAN RUBYTHROAT!

There were lots of other non-avian highlights including MOOR FROGS, FALLOW & ROE DEER, RED SQUIRREL and some beautiful wildflowers.

All this plus superb accommodation and organic, local produce in a wonderful setting made this a trip to remember.
