NORFOLK WINTER BIRDING BREAK

An amazing tour to Norfolk which kicked off in The Broads where we found three FERRUGINOUS DUCKS and then a cracking afternoon with SHORT-EARED & WESTERN BARN OWLS, male HEN HARRIER, 12 TAIGA BEAN GEESE, WHOOPER SWANS and eight COMMON CRANES.

The next couple of days were spent exploring the North Norfolk coast where LITTLE OWL, LONG-TAILED DUCK, BRAMBLING, GREAT EGRET, RED KITES galore, WHOOPER SWAN, 80+ GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, GREY PARTRIDGE, SNOW BUNTINGS, LAPLAND BUNTING, LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER, 10+ WATER PIPIT, 20+ COMMON EIDER, seven HORNED LARKS, PEREGRINE FALCON, NORTHERN FULMARS, COMMON SCOTER and vast flocks of PINK-FOOTED GEESE were enjoyed by the group.

We concluded the tour with a day in The Brecks where we had outstanding views of three NORTHERN GOSHAWK plus LESSER REDPOLL, five MANDARIN DUCKS, EURASIAN NUTHATCH, EURASIAN SISKINS, MARSH TIT and finished with two HAWFINCH.

Special thanks to the tour participants who made it really special and boy, did we have fun plus amazing food, accommodation and pretty good weather made this a very enjoyable tour.
