SOMERSET LEVELS – WINTER BIRDING SPECTACULAR

Friday 4th - Monday 7th March 2022

Our second tour to the Somerset Levels was a resounding success with some brilliant birding from start until finish. The main highlight were up to 450,000 COMMON STARLINGS that came in to roost and there were so many birds in the sky we didn’t know where to look!

Our clients also enjoyed great views of the drake BAIKAL TEAL plus drake RING-NECKED DUCK and three PENDULINE TITS. Add in a supporting cast of COMMON KINGFISHER, eight COMMON CRANES, two JACK SNIPE, 20+ LESSER REDPOLL, 11 WHOOPER SWANS, booming EURASIAN BITTERNS, nine WESTERN CATTLE EGRETS, EURASIAN TREECREEPER, 50+ GREAT EGRETS, PEREGRINE FALCON, WESTERN MARSH HARRIERS, CETTI’S WARBLERS, COMMON CHIFFCHAFFS, MARSH TITS, RED KITES, RING-NECKED PARAKEETS and lots more.
