Back from a fantastic tour to the southwest with a weekend that produced many excellent birding highlights plus we were also very lucky with the weather.

Our itinerary was designed to see the best birds of the Somerset Levels and it didn’t disappoint with the main highlight being around 1 million COMMON STARLINGS flying to roost over our heads giving spectacular views!

Other highlights of the tour included drake BAIKAL TEAL, over 120 WESTERN CATTLE EGRET, 6 COMMON CRANE, 50+ GREAT EGRET, 2 drake RING-NECKED DUCK, male HEN HARRIER, female MERLIN, 4 CIRL BUNTINGS, 3 EURASIAN SPOONBILLS, female KENTISH PLOVER plus a supporting cast of WESTERN MARSH HARRIERS, thousands of wildfowl and waders and lots, lots more.
